Stubborn Grandma = Healing Grandma!
I picked the boys up late tonight and they crashed in the car on the way home (YAY)! Which means they went straight to bed when we got home! I love evenings like that because then there is no fighting to go to bed!
Have a great week everyone!

But why not?
The boys have become very musical lately and enjoy playing their loud (and annoying) instruments! A miniature drum set and recorders. They were Christmas presents last year from cousin Kelly. She will pay dearly when she has kids! I see lot's of loud musical instruments in her future! In fact, they are both playing their recorders right now and I think I need to invest in some earplugs! Or another bottle of Excedrin Migraine! Imagine me cringing right now as the pitch feels like fingernails on a chalkboard to me! SSSCCCRREEECCHH!!!!!!
And we have finally learned the ABC's! LMNOP doesn't quite sound right, but that is pretty normal! Either way, I'm excited that they have finally learned all of the alphabet song! We also sing multiple songs at bedtime now! They include, the ABC song, Twinkle twinkle little star, the Ladybug Picnic, Lullaby and Little Bunny Foo Foo! And the new favorite that Bryan and I sing to them together is The Bear in Tennis Shoes song! Any of you remember that song? For those that don't know, Bryan and I met as outdoor counselors for a camp called Cispus! We had camp songs that we sang and this was one of those songs! It is one of our favorites and when we sing it to the boys, they are silent! (Yes! Silence is a miracle in this house!) And then when we sing the ending "The End, The End." over and over again, they can't stop laughing! So here are the lyrics so that you can sing it to your children! It's a fun song that should be a family favorite!
I have also added some new pics below of recent events! Yesterday was the Open House at the Washougal Fire Department! My sister's boyfriend Dustin became a volunteer at the fire department and we went down to check it out and support him! The boys had fun and got to ride in the fire engine, learn to stop, drop & roll!
And 2 weeks ago, our maple tree in our front yard came down. Well, half of it came down and the other half had to be brought down. Luckily, the only casualty was our mailbox! Oh, and our pocketbook! $950 to down a stupid tree! Mother nature was much cheaper!
The other day
(echo)
I met a bear
(echo)
In tennis shoes
(echo)
A dandy bear
(echo)
(all together)
The other day I met a bear;
In tennis shoes -- a dandy bear;
(other verses similar)
He looked at me,
I looked at him.
He sized up me,
I sized up him.
He said to me,
Why don't you run?
For I see you ain't
Got any gun.
And so I ran
Away from there.
And right behind
me was that bear.
And then I came
up to a tree.
I great big tree --
Oh goodness me!
The nearest branch
Was ten feet up.
I'd have to jump
and trust my luck.
And so I jumped
Into the air,
And I missed that branch
Away up there.
Now don't you fret.
Now Don't you frown.
'Cause I caught that branch
On the way back down!
The moral is
No shocking news:
Don't talk to bears
In tennis shoes.
(and the classic camp song can't-leave-well-enough-alone
epilogue:
The end. The end.
The end. The end.

The tree down across our driveway.

The rest of the tree still standing.

Our mailbox post!

The rest of the tree being taken down.

Stump grinding!

The hole, the sawdust and a pile of wood!

Fall is here!
Well, it has been quite the crazy month with tons of things going on and good and bad news as well. On September 14th, Daniel had his adenoids and tonsils removed. He had been snoring since the day he was born and was quickly given the nickname "Darth Vader" by Bryan! Yes, it's mean, but totally true! It never got better and we decided to check out the adenoids with the doctor. In the mean time, when we went to the beach in August, we heard him sleeping and breathing at night and it appeared he was having some apnea issues. Once the doctor checked him out, she found his adenoids were HUGE and advised that they really should come out. He was a trooper, even though he HATED having to be there and we struggled to get him to calm down before surgery. He was screaming and kicking and fighting and wanted to leave. Needless to say, the Anesthesiologist gave him a drink of something that made him calm down and act like a little boy high on drugs! He was hilarious and had me and Bryan laughing until we cried! He had to have a liquid or mushy food diet for 10-14 days and is finally back on to regular food. I never thought my kids would refuse ice cream or popcicles, but a week of them and they were tired of that stuff!
In the mean time, Cameron has started physical therapy once a week for his toe-walking. He also has braces that he wears that force him to walk flat-footed. We have excercises he does and we encourage him to carry heavy things that force him to walk flat on his feet. He does well with his braces, and we encourage him like crazy! He has also recently started talking even more! When we took him to his P.T. appointment by him self, he didn't stop talking! Without brother around to talk for him, he is quite the little jabberjaws! I love it!
Daniel recently started asking to use the potty!!! WOOOOHOOO!!!! Very exciting news! More pull-ups being used and less diapers! Can't wait to quit using diapers! What a saving that will be! I don't even want to know how much we have spent on diapers in the last 3 years! Probably enough to buy a new car! HA HA HA!!!
Bad news that we received was on August 12th, my Grandma was taken to ER because she was having symptoms of a stroke. After many tests later, it was determined that she has small cell lung cancer and it has spread to her brain and her adrenal gland. Unfortunately it is in stage 4. She wants to fight it and radiation and chemo will help extend her life, so she did 15 days of radiation. She completed it on September 17th and was scheduled to start chemo on Sept. 22nd. The really bad part came on Sept. 19th. Early in the morning around 3:30am, she had horrible stomach pains. My Grandpa took her to ER and she was admitted. After some more tests, it turned out she had Diverticulitis which is an infection of the colon and it was leaking into her body. She was going into septic shock and her blood pressure had fallen to 60 over 32 at one point. The Dr.'s needed to do emergency surgery. During surgery, we almost lost her. The Dr's had to shock her twice to bring her back. They weren't sure she would survive. She went to ICU to recover and was taken off sedation meds on Wed. Sept 23rd. She finally woke up on Saturday Sept. 26th. She has finally been moved out of ICU to a regular room and will be going to a Rehab Center in the next few days to regain her strength. She is such a fighter and I couldn't be more proud of her! She should start chemo once she is recovered.
The good news is that when Grandma got her cancer diagnosis, it was decided that Bryan, myself and my sister and her boyfriend, would join my parents and grandparents on a cruise to Mexico! We are still planning on going, however, it has been postponed. We were supposed to leave on the 9th of October, but Grandma won't be ready by then. We are hoping to leave a few weeks later. This will give her time to recover. Can't wait to enjoy this special family vacation together! It will be the first cruise for me and Bryan and I'm looking forward to the time we get to spend together! We haven't been on a major vacation anywhere since our honeymoon 10 years ago to Disney World!
I hope that you and your family are doing well! Sorry that this post is so long! I need to do updates more often! Have a great day!

Proud parents to 3 year old bouncy twin boys!
Saturday was a busy day for me! I was working the Mary Kay table at the Wine and Jazz Festival in Vancouver for about 4 hours! I met some great people, enjoyed some wonderful music and got some customer leads! I'm trying to grow my business so that I don't only sell to family and friends! I like bringing in the extra income to help out with bills and I simply love the product and sharing it with people!
Then Sunday was just another LOOOONG day! We had a family get-together at our house with just my parents, Bryan's parents, my grandparents, my Aunt & Uncle, my sister and her boyfriend and close friends that are like grandparents! So it was house-cleaning and cooking Pork Kabobs for dinner! Needless to say, I was running behind and in a very cranky mood. Thankfully, Dottie & Amber pitched in to help with cutting up fruit and making the rice and veggies, while I skewered tons of pork, carrots, peppers and pineapple! It took longer than I expected since I was making so much! I was pooped by the end of the evening! Cameron could care less about opening presents, so it was hard to wrangle him down to open anything. Especially since the first gift he opened was little stars that you put on the ceiling that glow! Thank you Dottie & Frank! Then they each got little digital cameras! Cameron is OBSESSED with taking pictures! We have a little photographer in our midst! He was so cute running around and taking our pictures! Daniel wanted to constantly play with a rubber snake they got. The kind that if you put it in water, it will grow 660x the size it is! Fun! NOT! Thank you to everyone who came to the birthday parties (both of them)! It was a memorable birthday to say the least! OH! And I almost forgot! My parents, my grandparents and Bryan and I went in together and bought the boys a swingset for their birthday! They love it and especially love the teeter-totter (AKA..peeter-totter)! So far they are getting along pretty well playing on it! Daniel loves to stop on the ground and leave Cameron in the air. He laughs and so does Cammy! Then Cammy says "Down brother!" Daniel looks at us and says "Cammy up high!", then he laughs some more! Very, very cute!
Well, that is the update for now! I will do more soon! Have a great day everyone!

The boys 3rd birthday was Wednesday the 19th! I can't believe my babies are now 3 years old! :-( Time has flown by and they are growing so quickly right before our eyes! We are having a birthday party for them on Friday at a local place called J.J. Jump that has indoor blow-up jumpers and slides! Their little friends will join them while they jump, jump, jump!!! I have planned a train theme for the party and decided to make the birthday cake again this year! So I found a cute train cake on-line and worked for about 6 hours to complete it! Here is the finished product!!! I'm excited that it turned out so nicely and can't wait for the boys and our family and friends to see it!!!
Have a great day everyone!
Luv,

Birthday time!!!
We had a busy weekend going to the "Family reunion" for the Oregon Center for Reproductive Medicine! The fertility clinic that we used to help us get pregnant with the boys, was hosting a reunion at the Oregon Zoo. It was an opportunity to see the Dr.'s and nurses we worked with and tell them thank you! It was amazing to see all the families and the children that are here because of them! Nearly 2,000 family members attended the event, including over 300 infants and more than 600 children (ours included)! It was even more fun for us, because we were joined by two of my friends from school! Deja (Brock) Hubbard and I have been friends since Kindergarten and Jennifer (Conway) Gay and I have been friends since middle school! They both were also patients and we all have babies now because of this clinic! Deja's twins, Ali & Madi are now 4 1/2 and Lilly is almost 2! Jenn's twin girls are 3 months old! Needless to say, we all had our hands full and had a lot of fun together! Deja & I and our familes rode the Max train over together so the kids were able to experience the "train" ride! It was long, but fun! I am attaching pics that were taken by the photographer at the reunion! Thank you to all of the wonderful Dr's and nurses!

who is who!)
We took Cameron to the Physical Therapist on Thursday to look at the fact that he walks on his tip-toes and see if we have a problem. In her opinion, he stands 2 1/2 - 3" of the ground (heel to ground distance) and is up on his toes at least 75% of the time. She doesn't feel that it will go away, except go down slightly as he gets taller and gains weight as he grows. She feels that since he has been walking on his tip-toes since he started walking 2 years ago, it is how he has learned to walk. So he needs to be re-trained. Problems that we see are that he doesn't have a very good arch in either of his feet. Another issue is that since he isn't walking flat like he should, he is over-using his calf muscles, which leads to the under-usage of his knee muscles, which could possibly lead to issues when he gets older. So we have decided to do Physical Therapy weekly for 4-6 weeks and get braces for his feet that will not allow him to be on his toes. It will force him to walk flat on his feet, and hopefully retrain him how to walk correctly. He will wear these at least 3 months and at the maximum of 6 months. We feel it is best to take care of this while he is young, before he is in school, and before it gets too hard to "re-train" him. We'll see if it works!
The boys will be 3 years old tomorrow and I can't believe it! My babies aren't babies anymore! They are big boys! I'll update more tomorrow about how far they have come in 3 years and what they are doing now! This took longer than I expected to type and there is more to share (good and bad). But that will come later. Have a nice evening everyone!
